WHOLE HEART MINISTRIES
Since its birth in 1994, Whole Heart Ministries has been dedicated to helping Christian parents raise wholehearted children who will live for Christ. Clay and Sally Clarkson have served in full-time ministry since 1975, both as single adults and as a married couple, in overseas missions, discipleship ministries, and in church ministry. Whole Heart Ministries brings to full expression the convictions and messages they have cultivated and taught since the late 1980s.
MISSION
The mission of Whole Heart Ministries is “to encourage and equip Christian parents to raise wholehearted children for Christ.” Whole Heart Ministries helps Christian parents and their children worldwide through ministries of speaking, teaching, training, writing, and publishing that focus on the biblical and practical aspects of home nurture, home discipleship, and home education. Our ultimate objective is to come alongside Christian parents to help them prepare their children to become Christian leaders in the next generation.

ORGANIZATION
Whole Heart Ministries is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) federally tax-exempt religious organization. We operate under the authority of a Board of Directors made up of godly men and women committed to the ministry and mission of WHM. Financial information is available upon request. We are Christ-centered, conservative, and evangelical in our doctrinal beliefs and ministry practices. Ministry is done by people, not by an organization, so we encourage you to think of us in terms of “who we are” as much as you do in terms of “what we do.”
Staff
Clay Clarkson — Clay is the Executive Director of WHM. He accepted Christ at a Campus Crusade for Christ event at the University of Texas and joined the staff of the ministry upon graduation in 1975. After leaving staff to pursue a music ministry for several years, he began studies at Denver Seminary in 1981. His 6-year friendship with Sally, who had been assigned to Denver at the same time, became a lifelong commitment of marriage on August 30, 1981. For the first 12 years of marriage, Clay ministered as a worship leader, single adults pastor, and adult ministries pastor with churches in Austria, California, and Tennessee. He moved back to Texas in 1993 to begin Whole Heart Ministries in an old farmhouse on family property in central Texas. In the spring of 1999, Clay was able to move his family back to Colorado, where their life as a family began. Clay is first of all a writer and teacher, but also enjoys songwriting and acoustic guitar, acoustic artists, old books, Sally’s baking, strong English tea, and DDP.
Sally Clarkson — Sally is, first and foremost, a full-time, stay-at-home-schooling mom. Her life has always revolved around her four wholehearted children-Sarah, Joel, Nathan and Joy. In addition to her ministry to her family, God has also given her a ministry to other families, and to homeschooling mothers, through speaking and writing. Sally grew up in Texas and New Mexico, accepted Christ personally her freshman year at Texas Tech University, was active with Campus Crusade for Christ during college, and joined staff upon graduation in 1975. She ministered at the University of Texas, lived and ministered in Eastern Europe under Communist rule, and returned to Denver to work with executive women and singles, and with Clay, whom she married a year later. She has always been active in discipling women, and began a church-based homeschool support group in Nashville that is still active. Sally is a writer, speaker, discipler, and blogger (itakejoy.com) who also loves books, music, British films, baking, and tea.
The Clarkson Children — Sarah (May 21, 1984) is a published author of two books, a writer and blogger (thoroughlyalive.com and storyformed.com), and a lover of beauty and great books. Joel (November 19, 1986), a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, is a self-taught guitarist and pianist, has released two CDs of his original songs, and is pursuing film scoring in LA. Nathan (April 19, 1989) attended New York Film Academy before moving to LA, is a self-taught musician and writer, and is active in church and ministry. Joy (May 26, 1995) is beginning college course work, is interested in music, speaking, and ministry, and is an aspiring pianist, songwriter, and singer.
Jennice Jones — Jennice became the Administrative Assistant, Office Manager, Bookkeeper, and Receptionist at Whole Heart Ministries in 1995. She is a homeschooling single mother of her 14 year-old son, Creston, who also helps in the office. Jennice has four other grown children, three of them adopted. Her’s is the voice you hear when you call our office.

Statement of Faith
Whole Heart Ministries subscribes to the Statement of Faith of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE):
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
